TANINI TRIO AND MELIHAT GULSES
Founded in 2006, the Tanini group consists of Tahir Aydoğdu (Qanun), Bilgin Canaz (Ney) and Burçin Büke
(piano), who joined the group in 2017. Tanini aims to strengthen friendship and peace among the people of
the world by building bridges between Eastern and Western musical cultures.
Their repertoire based on the western works embroidered with Turkish motifs and Turkish works arranged in
Western styles. In addition to their competent and high-quality performances, these artists, each of whom
are internationally experienced and among the best in their fields, manage to amaze, bring people closer
together, entertain and make people imagine with their original ideas, compositions and arrangements,
versatile musical tastes, colorful personalities they bring to the stage, guest artists they sometimes
work with, surprises and interactions with the audience.
Among the places where they have performed concerts so far are the Turkish Presidential Mansion,
Dolmabahçe Palace, Istanbul Esma Sultan Mansion, METU Culture and Congress Center, US Central Bank,
Turkish Central Bank, Turkish Embassies in Washington DC and Seoul (South Korea), Rome-Milan (Italy),
Frankfurt, Chamber of Industry and Commerce (Germany), Budapest - Eger (Hungary), Malaga-Barcelona
(Spain), Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Amman (Jordan), Boston (USA), Toronto - Ottawa (Canada), Vilnius
(Lithuania), Ashgabat - Mari (Turkmenistan), Valletta (Malta), Warsaw (Poland), London (England), Glasgow
(Scotland), Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Sofia (Bulgaria), Vienna (Austria), Taipei (Taiwan), Kuala
Lumpur (Malaysia), Kyrenia (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus), Rabat (Morocco), Moscow (Russia),
Belgrade (Serbia), Parnu-Tallinn (Estonia), Kotor-Bugva (Montenegro) and Tirana (Albania). Tanini was the
first music group to perform live music in the American Central Bank building.
At the 2nd Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations held in Turkey in 2009, the group performed in front of
presidents and personalities from many countries. Tanini's albums "Dokunuşlar", released in 2008, and
"Dokunuşlar 2", released in 2011, by Kaf Music, attracted great attention. Their third album, titled
"Davet", was released by ADA Music in June 2019. Tanini Trio was awarded the "International Strategic
Visionary Artist Award" by TASAM in Istanbul on 2 November 2017.
